Rolling
Stone's Top 50 Albums of 2005

Dec. 18 - Let's
face it, 2005 was not the best year for albums. Looking
at Rolling Stone's list of 2005's top albums confirms
it for me. With The Rolling Stones, Springsteen, Van Morrison
and Thelonious Monk making the Top 20 it was a year that
looked backwards. To that end, many of the year's biggest
sounds actually came from 2004 — Eminem, U2, Gwen
Stefani to name a few. And then albums that could have
redeemed the year like the new Outkast and Pharrell's solo
debut have been pushed into to 2006. On the bright side,
there was Kanye, the Gorillaz and 50 Cent and new artists
M.I.A., LCD Soundsystem, Paul Wall and The Kaiser Chiefs
who are all represented on the list.
