Roger Moore: Gen X Bond
1973-1985

Roger Moore appeared in more Bond films than any other portrayer (this is by not counting Connery's Never Say Never Again) and for Generation X is the Bond they grew up with. He was a lover not a fighter. Raising an eyebrow and uttering a quip in place of Connery's brut force, but it worked. My favorite films of his were the early 1980s Octopussy and For Your Eyes Only, which presented a mature Bond who unfortunately became too old for his last appearance in 1985's dismal View to a Kill.
On this cover, who really believed that Paul McCartney's Wings could be bigger than the Beatles? Funny how they picked Maude as the hot show then and that Flip Wilson teaming up with Helen Reddy could have been pop culture news.
